Yesterday I was at a dinner party with some friends (yes, I go to dinner parties) and during the conversation, one of my friends announced she has never had Coca Cola! Ok, that is more un-American than not wearing a flag pin while you run for President!

I have never seen top gun!
June 9th, 2008 · 1 Comment
I have never seen top gun! “What!” you might say. “Have you been living under a rock!”
Well, I just never got around to it, nor have I ever had an interest… until now!
This weekend I want Garage Sale-ing (or is it Garage Sailing?) and found the DVD for $3. I figured, what the heck, it is cheaper than renting. So now I have the movie… but I still have to watch it.
Stay tuned…
P.S. I have never seen Titanic, nor will I ever see it!

Opening the flood gates
June 4th, 2008 · No Comments
My Daughter has learned to write her name. She is excited and loves to practice… everywhere. She had used a fine tip pencil to write her name on the wall. While not clearly noticeable, we had a talk about what she had done and how we don’t write on the walls. Telling her that she wasn’t in trouble, but we needed to know where else she had tagged the house, we asked her to show us.
She then proceeded to take us on a tour through out the house of the various locations where her calligraphic exercises had taken place. It was hard to feel a sense of pride at how well she had progressed, how dedicated she was at the task and how creative she had been at choosing the locations! But if she does it again… she’ll be in time out.

Am I being scammed? ZB & Sons?
May 28th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Ladies and Gentleman, I present this to my humble public for review! Just today I got, what would seem like a sketchy e-mail… what are your thoughts?
Dear Sirs,
We at ZB & Sons take pride in importing only the best quality products to
the island of Malta. Upon browsing the net to find t-shirts/shirts that
would appeal to the adolescent market, we came across your website. Your
products look great and we think they are just what we are looking for to
add to our growing range of clothing. We would like to start importing some
of your designs in bulk, however we usually ask you to send us some samples
to see the quality etc. This is because we previously were very disappointed
in the t-shirts/shirts that some companies sent us, which were bad quality
and made cheaply.
We hope to hear from you soon.
Best Regards,
Steve

Got Hair?
May 22nd, 2008 · 1 Comment
So while I was washing my full head of hair this morning, I started thinking of all the research that people are doing to figure out how to grow hair. Then I thought of all the research being done to stop hair from growing. I found it ironic that a person might be doing one treatment to grow hair one place and another to stop hair from growing someplace else…
I wonder if the scientists doing the research ever compare notes. It would be funny if the hair growing people discovered how to not grow hair and the not growing hair people discovered how to grow hair, but because it didn’t accomplish what they were trying, they just threw it out.

Cadbury
May 13th, 2008 · No Comments
I have learned to trust the “Chef’s Best Taste Award” that are on many food labels. One food in particular that is right on is the Cadbury Dairy Milk Bar. I go through at least 2 whole bars a week if not more. I think I love chocolate more than a woman.

White people like grammar?
May 13th, 2008 · 2 Comments
I love this site, stuffwhitepeoplelike.com , but I disagree with their latest post…
The claim is that white people love grammar. WTFREAK? I hate grammar! Of course I find great solace in the fact that my disdain for grammar (and spelling) makes me less white! I might be pale on the outside, but I have the heart of a more “diverse” person :). Oh there is that word… diverse… that’s something for another post!

D&D Excuse!
May 12th, 2008 · No Comments
So this is how I started playing dungeons and dragons…
It all started with dinner from friends. To preface this, I have to explain the type of friends I keep. These people are the best dressed (straight) people I know. He works as a graphic designer for an agency and does work that is seen nation wide (his latest logo work is going to be the main logo for a company advertising all over the Beijing olympics)! These are the kind of people hip to the fashion and pop culture trends, social and in tune with the world.
So we are having dinner at their house and I’m joking about how in Junior high I played “D&D.” After spending an entire night playing, I woke up late the next day and thought, “What the heck did I just do? That was such a waste of time!”
He then stated, “I still play.” Thinking he was making fun of me, I laughed and made some crack about using his +5 sword, just to humor him. “No, I’m serious… I have all the books!” He then went to the cupboard by his dining room table and opened a door to reveal about 100 dungeons & dragon books!
“Do you want to play sometime? I’ve created a way to make it fun!”
I was seriously shocked. It was like a deep dark secret kept in the closet (literally). I said “sure” and since then I’ve played twice in about a 4 month period.
It has been fun. I have not spent all night playing and don’t think I will ever be able to go to that extreme, but it has been a nice walk down memory lane to a time of my youthful innocence.
So… I hope I roll higher than a 12 so I can attack the ogre with my +2 sword!
Wish me luck!

What are your guilty pleasures?
May 12th, 2008 · No Comments
Everyone has got them and everyone loves to have them! Mine… well, I like to watch those dumb Nickelodeon teeny-bopper shows, like Drake and Josh, iCarley and Ned Declassified (I don’t watch them all the time, but I find that when it is on, I’ll sit through the episode).
I have dedicated a whole page specifically to rant your guilty pleasures! I call it “Guilty Pleasures!” You know, sharing with others can be so freeing!

I’M A DORK!
May 9th, 2008 · 3 Comments
After posting about my dorky little brother, I started to think of my own coolness. I have come to realize that I have been blinded by my ego and it is time I have come to accept that yes, I am a dork (ok… there will be a t-shirt following this in the near future).
You may think this contradicts my previous post about how awesome I am. On further investigation, those things that make me awesome, also make me a dork. So I guess I am an awesome dork (maybe another t-shirt)!
Why I have come to the conclusion that I am a dork…
- I know all kinds of technical, gee whiz types of computer information.
- I am addicted to Battlestar Galactica and have been known to occasionally let “frak!” slip out of my mouth in a fit of frustration.
- I can write code and get excited about “new innovations” and “open source” projects.
- and (here’s the kicker) I have recently started playing dungeons and dragons with a group of friends (this will soon be its own “confession post” because I feel the need to justify myself
).
I think I will have to post now why I am cool, just because I think my ego needs a boost.
